Famously designed and refurbished for Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee celebrations on the River Thames in 2012, you'll be able to travel like royalty aboard the opulent Spirit of Chartwell. Full of elegance and refinement, the vessel's design evokes a classic luxury yacht with a touch of Pullman railway grandeur.

This intimate boat has a high ratio of staff to guests, which means that your needs will be discreetly anticipated and catered for.

On the boat, all meals are included with drinks and you can indulge in the famous cuisine of the Douro Valley, made with regional ingredients.

Meet the Itinerary

Day 1 - The Spirit of Chartwell welcomes you

Welcome aboard!
At around 6 PM, boarding will begin at the Gaia Quay, followed by a welcome cocktail.
Dinner will be served on the boat and tonight you'll spend the night at Cais da Ribeira.
Accommodation: on board the Spirit of Chartwell, at Cais da Ribeira

Day 2 - Lamego city tour with tasting of local products

At 6: 30 AM, the Spirit f Chartwell will set off in the direction of Régua. On the way, enjoy breakfast on board and take the opportunity to contemplate the magnificent scenery.
During the morning, you can also attend the "Culinary Delight" presentation by the Chef.
After lunch on the boat and arriving in Régua, you will visit to Lamego city tour with tasting of local products
At around 5 PM, you'll leave for Pinhão, where you'll have dinner at a local farm.

Day 3 - Taste local products in Castelo Rodrigo

At around 7am, the ship will head towards Pocinho.
During the trip, breakfast and lunch will be served on board and, at around 2pm, you will arrive in Pocinho.
As soon as it arrives, it will visit the village of Castelo Rodrigo and taste local products.
At 3pm, the Spirit of Chartwell will set sail for Barca d'Alva, with arrival scheduled for 5pm.
That evening, you'll have the opportunity to enjoy a gala dinner on board with the theme “Captain's Night”. The opening ceremony will feature the opening of Vintage Port wine.

Day 4 – Journey to Entre-os-Rios with Portuguese Night

First thing in the morning, at 6 AM, the ship will set sail for Entre-os-Rios and breakfast will be served on board.
Afterwards, there will be a presentation about the Douro to get to know this incredible region.
Relaxed lunch on the cruise, with breathtaking views.
At 8 PM, the ship arrives at Entre-os-Rios, where the evening awaits with a special themed dinner — “Portuguese Night” — followed by a live Portuguese folklore music show.

Day 5 - Enjoy the last few moments!

At 7 AM, the boat will leave for Gaia. During the journey, have breakfast on board and enjoy the superb views of the Douro Valley.
At around 12 PM, you can check out and disembark.

Please note that the departure is conditional on at least 8 cabins ship occupancy.

Deposits are non-refundable. Any changes made less than 31 days before the tour start time will not be accepted. The cut-off times are based on the local time of the tour. If an experience is cancelled due to weather conditions or any other reason, you will be given a different date/experience or a full refund.
