Next up is Madeira, another pearl of the Atlantic. Here you'll find everything you need: the climate, the gastronomy, the landscapes, the people and, of course, the poncha! You'll have the chance to explore the island from one end to the other, with fantastic trails and guided tours of the most emblematic sites.

Of course, the journey continues to Lisbon. The Portuguese capital is an obligatory stop for anyone looking to get to know the Portuguese soul in all its splendour. You'll visit the main areas of the city and even watch a Fado (traditional Portuguese music) show.

To end on a high note, there's nothing better than going to Sintra and Cascais, two charming villages close to Lisbon that delight visitors with their charm and refinement.

Day 1 - Welcome to Ponta Delgada!

A private transfer will be waiting for you at the airport to take you to your hotel, where you will stay for 4 nights.
Take the day to stroll around the city center and dine in a typical restaurant where you can taste delicious local delicacies.

Now the adventure really begins!
The first stop will be Vila Franca do Campo, the first capital of São Miguel, located on the south coast, where you can taste a famous local sweet - Queijada da Vila, a historic recipe of the town. When you reach the Furnas valley, near the stunning Furnas Lagoon, you will see some volcanic phenomena, known as fumaroles; in addition, you will also see how the famous Cozido das Furnas is made, a gastronomic delight of the Azores. The tour is followed by a visit to the Terra Nostra garden (optional) before lunch, where you will have the chance to try a rejuvenating thermal bath.
On the way to the mountains, you'll stop to see the amazing view over the Furnas valley from Pico de Ferro.
On the north coast, more precisely in Ribeira Grande, you will visit the Gorreana tea plantation and factory, where you will taste two types of tea - black and green.
The last stop will be at the Santa Iria viewpoint, where you will have a breathtaking view of the north coast of the island.

After breakfast, you will visit Lagoa do Fogo and Sete Cidades.
The tour gets off to a good start for sweet lovers, as you will visit the traditional pineapple plantation, an organic crop grown in greenhouses, and taste the famous pineapple liqueur.
The journey continues along the west coast of the island, where you can enjoy the view from the Pico de Carvão viewpoint. Surrounded by enormous vegetation, you'll find the viewpoint of the Sete Cidades volcanic complex at Vista do Rei. From here you can see the twin lakes and their iconic blue and green colors.
Once in the crater, there is the incredible Lago de Santiago to see. A stop will be made in the picturesque village of Sete Cidades, where lunch will be served in a regional restaurant. In the afternoon, the tour will travel along the coast until it reaches Capelas, an old whaling village, stopping at the viewpoint of Pedras Negras to see the north coast of the island.
Continuing along the north coast, you will stop to visit the town of Ribeira Grande and its historic center. Afterwards, Caldeira Velha, a nature reserve, is the place to go for a swim (if you so wish), where you can enjoy the warm water of a waterfall.
The last stop is the fantastic Lagoa do Fogo, where you'll have time to enjoy the fantastic views. On the way back to Ponta Delgada, descending via Pico da Barrosa, you will once again have the supreme view over the newest and narrowest part of the island.

On this fourth day on the island of São Miguel, you can choose which of these activities you prefer:

Whale Watching
During this trip, you will have the opportunity to see some of the 28 species of cetaceans that have already been identified in the waters of the Azores. You'll be in the company of whales and dolphins during the three-hour boat trip, where you may also see turtles, birds and other marine species.

Salto do Prego/Sanguinho Hiking
On this walk, which starts in the parish of Faial da Terra, you will walk along a beautiful stream that will guide you through this charming village with its sensational orchards. You'll continue walking through the forest, over wooden bridges and along stone roads, until you reach the magical Salto do Prego waterfall - where you'll take a break to rest, enjoy a picnic and take a refreshing dip in the waterfall.
On your way back, you'll pass through the old abandoned village of Sanguinho, which is gradually regaining its charm and liveliness.
Afterward, you'll make a brief stop at the Pico dos Bodes viewpoint, where you can enjoy a refreshing swim in Povoação / Ribeira Quente, or take a cozy dip in the Furnas thermal springs, or use the rest of the time to stroll around.

It's time to fly to Madeira!
When you land at Madeira airport, a private transfer will take you to your hotel in Funchal.
During the rest of the day, take the opportunity to explore the island a little and try some of the typical delicacies.

On the seventh day it's time to explore the east side of the island!

The first stop will be at Terreiro da Luta.

The journey will continue towards the mountain of Pico do Areeiro. At an altitude of 1818 metres, it is the third highest peak on the island and offers breathtaking views.

Next you will descend towards the coast through the forest to the last of Madeira's emblematic straw houses. Passing picturesque villages and stunning seascapes, you will reach the easternmost point of the island, where you can enjoy superb views of the north and the sunny south coast in one panoramic vista.

On the northern slope of the island, the tour reaches a popular spot for levada walks, Ribeiro Frio. With its interesting trout ponds, this area still retains much of its original vegetation. The island was once completely covered by the Laurissilva forest, a relic from prehistoric times.

Lunch will be spent in Santana, known for its small thatched triangular houses.

Then you will head towards Ponta de São Lourenço, situated on the eastern part of the island, where there is a fantastic combination of rocks, sea and nature.

The last place to be visited will be Machico, a viewpoint from where you can see the bay and the golden sandy beach.

Day 7 - Discover the enchanting west side of the island

Are you ready to explore the west of the island?
The tour will begin in the morning, right after breakfast, starting at the first traditional fishing village of Câmara de Lobos. The journey will continue to Cabo Girão, the second highest cliff in the world and the highest cliff in Europe.
When you reach Ribeira Brava, you'll head north, climbing through the deep, narrow valleys of Serra D'Água. Here you will find Encumeada, a special place at the top of the valley, where you have an incredible view of the south and north coast of the island.
Next you'll head to São Vicente, one of the largest villages on Madeira's north coast. The next stop will be the beautiful village of Porto Moniz, where you will have about an hour to have lunch and admire the fantastic volcanic pools.
On the way back, you will cross Madeira's highest plateau, Paul da Serra, with all its spectacular panoramic views over the island.

Day 8 - Breathe nature at Levada do Rabaçal

A fascinating route awaits you on this morning: the Rabaçal 25 Fontes Levada, one of the most popular on the island.
The walk will begin on the plateau of Paúl da Serra, where you will descend towards the Pousada do Rabaçal and begin the hike.The path reveals a spectacular landscape and along the way you'll be able to see a wide variety of endemic species of flora and fauna typical of this place.
One of the first stops will be at the Risco waterfall, which has breathtaking views; the path will continue towards the Lagoa das 25 Fontes, surrounded by numerous waterfalls and gigantic endemic ferns. The lagoon is formed by crystal-clear waters originating in Paúl da Serra, which invites the bravest to venture into the cold water for a refreshing dip!
In the afternoon, a transfer will take you to the airport to catch a flight to Lisbon. Upon arrival in Lisbon, you will have a private transfer to take you to your hotel.

On your first day in Lisbon, you'll take a tour of the Portuguese capital with our certified guide, who will pick you up from your hotel. The tour will start on Avenida da Liberdade, one of the city's main streets which, in the days of the monarchy, was where the nobility and the royal family strolled and showed off to the people. Then we'll head to Parque Eduardo VII, the largest park in the centre of Lisbon, to enjoy the views over the city. It was baptised with this name in 1903 in honour of the English King Edward VII, who visited the Portuguese capital to reaffirm the alliance between the two countries. Next, you'll visit some of Lisbon's most typical and picturesque neighbourhoods, such as Alfama and Bairro Alto, where traditions are still preserved and a community spirit is maintained, reflecting the mixture of peoples from different cultures and beliefs over the centuries. You'll end your visit at Praça do Comércio, one of the largest squares in Europe and home to a number of government institutions. From here you can enjoy sweeping views of the Tagus River and contemplate the hustle and bustle of the city, which merge into one harmonious landscape.
This evening, you will be welcomed at one of Lisbon's most emblematic fado (traditional Portuguese music) houses, where you will enjoy a traditional Portuguese meal and a live show.

Day 10 - Visit the charming towns of Sintra and Cascais

After breakfast pick up at your hotel and Full Day Tour to Sintra and Cascais.

Sintra is 30 km from Lisbon offers a foretaste of paradise. The soft climate ensures a freshness permanent existence of a luxuriant vegetation make Sintra a deeply romantic and mysterious place. Stand out from the National Palace, the Pena Palace and the Moorish Castle (visit to one of the palaces included).
Free time to lunch (not included).

Cascais is a fishing village since the twelfth century and is perfectly preserved until today.

Return to Lisbon along the coast, passing by Estoril admiring the beautiful coast and it’s beaches.

After breakfast, a transfer will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the airport to catch your flight home. We hope you'll visit us again soon!

Deposits are non-refundable. Any changes made less than 31 days before the tour start time will not be accepted. The cut-off times are based on the local time of the tour. If an experience is cancelled due to weather conditions or any other reason, you will be given a different date/experience or a full refund.
