Charming Portugal Highlights - 10 Days

The start of this charming tour could only begin in the portuguese capital. Upon arrival in Lisbon, you will have a private transfer to take you to your hotel. In the afternoon, you will take a half-day City Tour of the portuguese capital with our local guide, who will pick you up from your hotel. The tour will start at Avenida da Liberdade, one of the city's main streets which, in monarchical times, the nobility and the royal family strolled and exhibited to the people. Then we will head for the Parque Eduardo VII, the largest park in central Lisbon, to enjoy the views over the city. This name was given in 1903 in honour of the English King Edward VII, who visited the Portuguese capital to reaffirm the alliance between the two countries.Next, we will visit some of Lisbon's most typical and picturesque neighbourhoods, such as Alfama and Bairro Alto, where traditions are still preserved, reflecting the mixture of people from different cultures and beliefs over the centuries.We will finish our visit in Praça do Comércio, one of the largest squares in Europe and home to some government institutions. From here you can enjoy the breathtaking views of the Tagus River and contemplate the bustle of the city, which merge into a harmonious landscape. 
At the end of the day, take the opportunity to taste some Portuguese delicacies, such as bifanas, grilled sardines or a delicious codfish with cream.

After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, a private transfer will take you to discover the wonders of Sintra and Cascais.
Just 30 km from Lisbon, Sintra feels like it was taken straight out of a fairy tale. Its mild climate, lush vegetation, and mystical atmosphere make this town a deeply romantic and inspiring destination. In the morning, you’ll have the chance to explore one of its most iconic landmarks — the choice is yours! Whether you visit the National Palace of Sintra, the majestic Pena Palace, the fabulous Palace of Monserrate, or the fascinating Quinta da Regaleira, each offers a truly unique experience (note: these monuments are closed on December 24 and 25, January 1, and Easter Sunday).
The journey continues with a stop at Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of mainland Europe, where “the land ends and the sea begins.” Get ready for breathtaking views over the vast Atlantic Ocean.
In the afternoon, you’ll visit Cascais, a charming fishing village dating back to the 12th century that still retains its historic charm and sophisticated coastal ambiance.
The return to Lisbon will be along the stunning coastal road, passing through Estoril, where you can admire the beautiful beaches and elegant seaside architecture.
At night, you will be welcomed into the soul of Portugal in one of Lisbon’s most emblematic fado locales, where you will enjoy a traditional Portuguese meal and a show.

The day begins with a journey towards Évora. Lunch (not included) will be at a traditional local restaurant and in the afternoon you will take a guided tour of the historic city centre. After arriving in the walled city, you will see the enigmatic São Francisco Church and its Chapel of Bones. Continuing through the narrow streets of the old town, you will find the Giraldo square, where the Inquisition once had its headquarters. You will still have time to explore the milenary Roman temple and take a look at the 12th century cathedral. You will end the day with a visit to a Winery with wine pairing.

After breakfast, you'll take a 4-hour tour of the medieval town of Monsaraz. Located next to the largest artificial lake in Europe, this picturesque town was once the scene of great battles, as its imposing castle proves. During the tour, you'll have the opportunity to visit a pottery shop and at the end you'll take part in a tasting of the region's wines. In the afternoon, after lunch (not included), you'll return to Évora and the time is yours. You can choose to enjoy the hotel's excellent facilities or explore the Alentejo city a little further.

On the 5th day, you head to Coimbra, a truly charming city steeped in history. It is not only one of the oldest university cities in the world, but also one of the most harmonious building complexes in Portugal. Take the day to visit emblematic sites such as the Joanina Library and Quinta das Lágrimas, the site of the love story between Prince Pedro and the beautiful Inês de Castro.

On this day, you will visit the Douro Valley, where you will be welcomed with splendid views over the Douro River! Then, you will go to a well-known winery in the region for visit, wine tasting, and lunch. After lunch, a private transfer will take you to the hotel for a relaxing end of the afternoon.

The morning of day 7 is on your own. Relax in the comfort of the hotel or enjoy some personal activities. At lunch time, we will pick you up and take you to one of the best experiences in Douro, a picnic in the middle of the vineyards. In the afternoon, you will embark on a fabulous 1-hour cruise on the Douro River, perfect to discover Douro from the best perspective. On your return to the hotel, you will do a wine tasting at the winery and vineyards of the Douro Valley.

On the eighth day of the tour, you will get to know the charming region of Minho. You will visit a local winery and participate in a wine tasting paired with traditional Portuguese delicacies. After the visit, you will head towards the birthplace of Portugal - the city of Guimarães! This was the first capital of Portugal, chosen by our first king, D. Afonso Henriques. In the afternoon you will take a walking tour to visit the historical centre of Guimarães, considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site. At the end of the afternoon you will go to Porto, where you will stay that night.

After breakfast, meet your guide at the hotel lobby for your half-day sightseeing tour of Porto.
In the historic city centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, you will enjoy a pleasant walk through its charming streets while learning about the city’s history and culture. Along the way, you will pass by landmarks such as the famous Lello Library, known for inspiring the Harry Potter books and films, the Golden Church of St. Francis, and the impressive Palácio da Bolsa with its incredible granite work and magnificent Neo-Arabic influences (entrances not included).
The tour continues towards the picturesque Douro riverfront, where you can admire the iconic D. Luís Bridge and the famous Port Wine cellars that brought worldwide recognition to the city.
While strolling through the city, you will also make a few stops at typical establishments to taste some of Porto's best delicacies.
The experience ends with a visit to one of the Port Wine Cellars, where you will enjoy a wine tasting.
To end this day in beauty, you will have the right to a Farewell Gourmet Dinner in a Michelin 1 Star Restaurant in Porto (except on sundays and mondays, because these restaurants are closed).
