Why choose this experience

Porto is the second largest city in Portugal, known as “Cidade Invicta”, the city that was never conquered. Located by the Douro River, Porto has been named “Best European Destination 2017”.

Its historical center, never touched by invaders, is registered as a World Heritage site by UNESCO. The historical value of the Old Cathedral, the Church of St. Francis and the Torre dos Clérigos combine with the contemporary buildings as the Serralves Museum and the “Casa da Música” (house of music), revealing the unique climate of the city.

The riverbanks – Ribeira and Gaia, connected by the Luis I bridge, present the most known picture of Porto. Those are the best places to taste the city.

The city never sleeps. Porto´s downtown is the core of the nightlife, especially in the weekends it gets really full, all year long. Almost every bar and music club is crowded. Ribeira and Foz are also important places on the night map of Porto, where the historical architecture blends with music and art.

This package includes two nights in Douro,. This charming and unique region in the North of Portugal is defined by having been the first demarcated wine region in the world and its landscape classified as UNESCO World Heritage. Our tour takes you to visit the best view points, lovely place of Pinhão and take an hour cruise in the Douro River.

Meet the Itinerary

Day 1 - Feel the city

Arrival at Porto Airport, private transfer to your 4* hotel in Porto and check-in.

Tonight you will have a traditional welcome dinner (included) where you will have the chance to try some of the most wellknown dishes from Porto cuisine.

Accommodation in Porto for 2 nights with breakfast.

Day 2 - Essence of Porto

In the morning, after breakfast, we will pick you up from your hotel for the half-day visit to the city of Porto with an official Tour Guide.

In the historical city centre, considered World Heritage by UNESCO, you will have more than enough time to explore Lello Bookstore, where Harry Potter books and movies were inspired. The Gold Church of São Francisco and right next door you'll find the Stock Exchange Palace with incredible granite work and magnificent neo-Arab influences (entrance not included). We will finish this tour with visit and wine tasting to the famous Port wine cellars.

Transfer back to your hotel and free time. Accommodation in Porto 4*.

Day 3 - Scenic Drive to Douro and tour in Douro Valley

After breakfast, check-out and transfer to Pinhao through route 222, alone Douro riverside, one of the most astonishing drives in Portugal.

A guide will show you Pinhão and the best views of Douro Valley, followed by a traditional lunch in one of the famous wineries in Douro Valley.

After lunch visit to the vineyards and wine tasting.

Finish the afternoon in beauty with a boat trip along Douro river, enjoy the breathless views. Transfer to your 4* hotel in Douro where you will stay for 2 nights with breakfast.

Day 4 - Douro Valley - Food and wine experience

After breakfast free time to relax or for some personal activities.

At lunch time we will pick you up and take you to one of the best experiences in Douro, a Pic-nic in the middle of the vineyards or a lunch in an iconic local restaurant followed by a wine tasting in one of the amazing wineries of Douro.

Transfer back to hotel.

Day 5 - End of the tour

After breakfast free time to relax or for some personal activities.

Check out and Transfer to Porto Airport or other place in Porto City according to your needs.

Change of Date Policy: Where possible and not detailed on the cancelation or modification terms above, Portugal Travel Center will try to honour change of date requests that are made with at least 30 days’ notice. This is not possible for all tours and is always subject to availability. Change of date requests that are made with less than 30 days’ notice will not usually be accepted. Change of date requests may be subject to an adjustment fee which falls in line with the cancellation fee structure.

Deposits are non-refundable. To get a refund, you must cancel at least 31 days before your experience start time. If you cancel less than 31 days before the start time of the experience, the amount paid will not be refunded. Any changes made less than 31 days before the start time of the experience will not be accepted. Cut-off times are based on the experience's local time. This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If canceled because the minimum has not been met, you will receive a different date/experience or a full refund.
