Time to say goodbye to Évora and head for Lisbon! In the morning, check-out and transfer to Lisbon with half day tour of the city.
The tour will start at Avenida da Liberdade, one of the city's main streets which, in monarchical times, the nobility and the royal family strolled and exhibited to the people. Then we will head for the Parque Eduardo VII, the largest park in central Lisbon, to enjoy the views over the city. This name was given in 1903 in honour of the English King Edward VII, who visited the Portuguese capital to reaffirm the alliance between the two countries.
Next, we will visit some of Lisbon's most typical and picturesque neighbourhoods, such as Alfama and Bairro Alto, where traditions are still preserved, reflecting the mixture of people from different cultures and beliefs over the centuries.
We will finish our visit in Praça do Comércio, one of the largest squares in Europe and home to some government institutions. From here you can enjoy the breathtaking views of the Tagus River and contemplate the bustle of the city, which merge into a harmonious landscape.
Before lunch, you will still have time to visit the Belém district, one of the most iconic areas of Lisbon, where you can discover some of the main landmarks from the Age of Discoveries. Here you’ll find monuments such as the Jerónimos Monastery, the Belém Tower, and the Monument to the Discoveries, as well as the famous pastéis de Belém, which you can taste at the original bakery.
During the lunch break, you’ll have free time to explore the local gastronomy at your own pace, with several restaurants and terrace options where you can enjoy traditional Portuguese dishes.
Follow you will learn the preparation of Custards "Pastéis de Nata" (Traditional Portuguese Sweet - Custards) in a cooking class (not available on sundays and bank holidays).
A transfer will take you to your hotel in Lisbon.
