This tour starts in Ponta Delgada where you will travel by car or bus to the Pico do Carvão viewpoint. In Mata do Canário, we will start a 5km trail that will allow you to discover the different lakes in the western part of the island of São Miguel. During the tour, it is possible to observe the varied vegetation on the ground and also see the Muro das Nove Janelas, an ancient aqueduct that transported water to Ponta Delgada.
From an area with more irregular terrain, after going up, it is possible to observe most of the western part of the island including the crater of Sete Cidades. If the weather is favorable, it is possible to see most of the entire island from this location. Back to Ponta Delgada again, there is time for a stop at the Miradouro da Vista do Rei, where you will find a magnificent view of Lagoa Azul and Lagoa Verde.
