This tour brings together the best of the natural landscapes of the beautiful island of Sao Miguel with the unique history and culture of each region that we will have the opportunity to visit.
After picking you up in the center of Ponta Delgada, our first visit begins at the pineapple plantation, a biological plantation using greenhouses and where it will be possible to taste the regional pineapple liqueur. The itinerary will follow along the west coast of the island and we will stop at the famous Pico do Carvao viewpoint, where you can enjoy views of both parts of Sao Miguel. Afterwards, the visit will be to the Miradouro Vista do Rei, the volcanic complex of Sete Cidades where you will be able to observe the famous Blue Lagoon and Green Lagoon. When we go down a little further, it is also possible to see another lagoon, the Lagoon of Santiago. Once in the center of Sete Cidades, we will have time to visit the Church of Sao Nicolau and of course, a typical lunch at a local restaurant with traditional food from the island.
After lunch, you can enjoy the green landscapes and the calm and tranquility that they awaken in those who observe them. We will travel towards the north of the island, passing by Mosteiros until we reach the parish of Capelas.
Still in the north of the island, we will visit the historic center of the city of Ribeira Grande and also a regional store selling local liquors. On the way to Lagoa do Fogo, there is an optional stop at the Natural Monument of Caldeira Velha, where it is possible to enjoy a bath in the thermal waters that come from a waterfall. After climbing a little further, we have in front of us the famous Fire Lagoon with its breathtaking view. Upon returning to the starting point, Ponta Delgada, we will pass by Pico da Barrosa, where we will once again have a wonderful view over São Miguel.
