The route starts towards the Vista do Rei viewpoint, where you can see the famous Lagoa Azul and Lagoa Verde, located in Sete Cidades. Further on, we will pass by the top of the mountains so that you can enjoy the incredible view over Lagoa do Fogo. Afterwards, the destination will be the Caldeira Velha Monument, to enjoy the waters of its waterfall (the entrance fee for this monument is not included in the trip) and from there the trip will continue to the Miradouro de Santa Iria, where you can see all the North Coast.
There is no Azores without tea, and due to this well-known plantation in the area, we will visit the famous Gorreana tea plantation and its factory. Here, you can taste green tea and black tea, both composed by nature harvested in these beautiful lands. The route will continue to Vale das Furnas, passing by the Pico do Ferro Viewpoint. Arriving at Vale das Furnas, it will be time to taste the famous traditional Cozido das Furnas, a regional dish from São Miguel, cooked in the heat of Mother Nature's subsoil. Here you can also observe volcanic phenomena, known as 'fumarolas'.
After lunch, the next stop is at Lagoa das Furnas to learn the patiente cooking process of the typical dish that we enjoy. On the way back to Ponta Delgada, our last stop will be at Vila Franca do Campo - the first capital of São Miguel - more precisely at the Ermida of Nossa Senhora da Paz, where the feeling of peace and harmony prevails among the landscape over the islet of Vila Franca and the celestial chapel.
